H20! The film

A film, a show
A 19 minute journey to give a better understanding of the issues of access to water at a planetary scale

A second film for the Palais des images

This second film produced by the Pass and by La PARTI production will give a yet more profound meaning to the word 'immersion'. Indeed with the 5D projection in the cube-like theater, the spectator is totally immersed in the film, all the more so with the stunning sequences of aquatic life filmed with the most advanced technologies. The 100 m2 screens on the left, right, top, bottom and facing the spectator added to a special sound surround enhance the spectacular quality of the show.

The challenges at a world level

The film presents a striking contrast between the compelling images of water on earth and the distressing plight of those who are today totally deprived of the primary right to this essential element. The jolly merry-go-round of bottled water in our consumer's world clashes dramatically with the images of youg girls walking endlessly in their desperate quest for water in African countries. Billions of litres of water used for agriculture collide with millions of people suffering from water-related deseases. The figures are appalling too. They remind us that we are responsible for the water ressources that are in our care and that we depend on water as much as the fish we see struggling for life throughout the film. Excerpts of an interview by Riccardo Petrella, author of the "Water Manifesto for a global deal" underline the purpose of the film by stressing the right to a free access to water for all.

Water as the source of life, but also source of death

Water is as vital to mankind as air, just as it is to the fish that guides us through the film to awaken   us to the crucial value of water. It is here to warn us, like the thousand other fishes that seem to come out of nowhere throughout the film to guide us round the figures and images that tell us the  vital challenges of water as mankind's only future. Each sequence is designed to open our eyes to the various themes; water as the source of life , water over-used, water becoming scarce, water as the source of death, water in the economic debate.

The main actor featuring here is water, in sound and in images. The various sounds of water mingle with the sheer poetry of sumptuous images and the original soundtrack by the Belgian band Flexa Lyndo and invite us to share a moving and gripping journey through the world of water.
