The Palace of Images
Like all major science museums, the Pass wanted to acquire equipment dedicated to big-screen shows. The rehabilitation of this industrial wasteland thus reaches its completion with the creation of the Palace of Images.
Linked to the main Pass'erelle by a small transparent walkway, the Palace of Images adds the finishing architectural touch while giving order to the route taken by visitors. Complementing and balancing the broad scientific fields already covered by the Pass, the Palace of Images will present a show focusing on the big questions and challenges facing humanity in the 21st century.
The first of these will look at the issue of sustainable development: when the planet itself is at stake, the future of mankind is also in question. The themes illustrated through image and sound will combine the environmental, cultural, social, economic - and of course scientific aspects.
The “Does the future have a future?” show mark the inauguration of the Palace of Images. The Pass is now completely open to the curiosity of all, young and old alike.
And on 22th December 2007, the Pass has opening a second film and an new exhibition H20! on the theme of water and to gain a better understanding of the issues of the access to water, world wide.
