A park covering 28ha. Scientific observatories where you can carry out experiments and learn from them, and a slag heap offering adventure in an unusual natural environment.
The Terril (slag heap)
Explore the spectacular ecosystem of the slag heap with an animator. We suggest you a nature route.
Bring good walking shoes, appropriate clothing and a little water. Although these routes are accessible to anyone in good health, they do take you up to a height of 70 metres (230 feet)!
The observatories
In a protected natural environment marked by the mine's operation, discover the scientific observatories: the weather station, explaining what lies behind the weatherman's bulletin, the lever and gears observatory, showing physics in a different light, the pond observatory, where you can discover the flora and fauna of a wet environment and the landscape observatory at the top of the pit-head frame
You can also let your children loose on the adventure playground.
