An exhibition in 3 parts
The exhibition, an invitation to explore the Antarctic continent and find out about the research being carried out there, is in 3 parts.
1 – The People
A continent which belongs to no one. A land dedicated to science and peace.
Antarctica is the only continent that has not been divided up into countries. It doesn’t belong to any nation. The ocean depths and space also have this very special status. Thus the Antarctic is the property of mankind in general (dedicated to peace) and of the scientific community in particular (dedicated to science).
2 – The Ice
Research in Antarctica, “immersion” in and on the ice.
The greatest challenge facing scientists is the future of the polar ice. The warming of the climate, bringing with it shrinkage of the ice field and the melting of the polar ice caps, will have a considerable global impact.
3 - Mapping
Exploring the 6th Continent
Here Antarctica can be seen from maps, 3D animations and globes, to give a fuller knowledge of the physical geography of the Antarctic, measure its extreme climate, its hilly relief, its coveted natural resources, and more.
